Install SnapFill Pro from the Chrome Web Store. Once installed, click the extension icon in your browser toolbar to open the popup. From there, open the Dashboard to configure your profile and add your API key.
SnapFill Pro is built for Google Chrome and all Chromium-based browsers (Microsoft Edge, Brave, Arc). It is not currently available for Firefox or Safari.
No. SnapFill Pro has zero user accounts. There is no sign-up, no email, no login. Your data lives entirely in your browser.
Yes — an API key is required to enable the AI features. SnapFill Pro is compatible with Google Gemini (free), OpenAI, Groq, and Ollama. We recommend Google Gemini's free tier to get started at no cost.
Yes. Google offers a generous free tier through Google AI Studio with no credit card required. You can generate your key at aistudio.google.com. See our full step-by-step guide at /api-key-guide.
Your API key is stored in your browser's chrome.storage — either locally or synced across your Chrome devices. It is never transmitted to SnapFill's servers (we don't have any). It only leaves your browser when you trigger an AI action, going directly to Google or your chosen provider.
Yes. SnapFill Pro supports any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. You can configure the endpoint URL and API key in the AI Brain Settings section of the Dashboard.
Navigate to any job portal. Click the SnapFill Pro icon in your browser toolbar. The popup will show "SnapFill is Dormant." Click "Enable SnapFill Here" — the sidebar will inject into the page and you're ready to go.
Yes. When you open the AI sidebar on a supported portal, SnapFill can auto-extract the visible job description from the page. You can also paste a JD manually.
Go to the Dashboard → AI Brain Settings and upload your base resume or set your identity. Then, in the sidebar on any job page, use the "LaTeX Resume" button under Strategic Assets. The AI will generate a tailored LaTeX document you can compile on Overleaf.
Writer Tone controls the style and register of AI-generated content. "Std" is professional and balanced. "Tech" is precise and technical. "Heart" is warm and human. "Fast" is direct and concise.
Go to Dashboard → AI Brain Settings → Export Brain. This downloads a full JSON backup of your profile, portfolio, and settings. To restore, use the Import Brain option on any Chrome installation.
No. SnapFill Pro has no servers and no cloud database. All your data is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage and IndexedDB. We have no access to your data whatsoever.
When you trigger an AI feature, the relevant context (your selected profile data + the job description) is sent directly from your browser to your chosen AI provider (e.g., Google Gemini). SnapFill Pro does not intercept, log, or store this data.
Go to Dashboard → Manage Users → Clear All Data. This "Atomic Wipe" permanently deletes all chrome.storage data (local + sync) and the entire IndexedDB database. The extension reloads in a factory-fresh state.
Yes. Because we collect no data centrally, there is nothing to request, export, or delete on our end. All your data control is local and instantaneous via the Clear All Data function.
Make sure you have clicked "Enable SnapFill Here" from the extension popup on that specific site. If it still doesn't appear, try refreshing the page after enabling. Also check that the site is not a PDF or a non-standard browser view.
Ensure there are no extra spaces when pasting your key. Verify the key is active in your Google AI Studio / OpenAI dashboard. Make sure the correct endpoint URL is set in AI Brain Settings.
Chrome extensions can sometimes become inactive after a browser update. Try going to chrome://extensions, disabling SnapFill Pro, and re-enabling it. If the issue persists, try removing and reinstalling the extension (your data will be preserved in chrome.storage).
If you had exported a JSON backup, you can restore it via Import Brain in the Dashboard. Unfortunately, if no backup was made, reinstallation does clear local storage. We strongly recommend exporting regularly.
